NORWOOD PARK HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOLD INDOOR HOUSE AND BARN SALE ON OCT. 14-16: DONATIONS SOUGHT

     Don’t miss the annual Indoor House and Barn Sale, October 14 – 16, in Chicago’s oldest house, conducted by the non-profit Norwood Park Historical Society. The Sale will be held inside the Noble-Seymour-Crippen House, 5624 N. Newark Ave., in Chicago, and the barn behind it, taking place on Fri., from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., Sat, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sun. from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Private vendors will be selling antiques, collectibles, autographed and non-autographed sports memorabilia, and general merchandise, on Friday and Saturday only. The Society will be selling merchandise all three days, and will conduct a “bag sale” and one-half price sale from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., on Sunday.  No private vendors will be present on Sunday.

     “Many items are one of a kind,” said Tom Spenny, event coordinator. “Those who come when it opens on Friday evening will have first chance at the good stuff, although there will be much varied merchandise to choose from on all three days. Docent-conducted tours of the house will be offered on Sat., from noon – 4 p.m.”

    The NPHS Museum Store, featuring Norwood Park collectible plates, maps and limited-edition sketches of the community and N-S-C House, plus autographed books by local authors, NPHS beer steins, key chains and much more, also will be open during the sale.             

     The organization is seeking donations of seasonal Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas items. Space is limited. (No books, clothing, furniture, or large appliances). Persons dropping off donations should leave them between the garage and the barn in the parking lot behind the Noble-Seymour-Crippen House, on Saturdays, from noon – 4 p.m. For more information, call Tom Spenny at
